A charity built for the part of war that lasts.
Shelter Line was founded on a simple observation: emergency funding follows attention, and attention leaves long before the need does. We are structured to do the opposite — arrive early, fund locally, and stay after the story ends.
Four principles we can be held to

Need decides, not news
Allocation is scored against OCHA people-in-need figures, IPC food security phases and UNHCR displacement data — not against how much coverage a war is getting this month.

Locally led by default
We do not fly in parallel structures. We fund national NGOs, community kitchens, mutual aid networks and municipal water utilities that already exist and already work.

Dignity over spectacle
We do not publish images that identify people in their worst moment. Consent, anonymity and accurate captions are conditions of every grant.

Neutral in every conflict
We take no position on the politics of any war. We take an absolute position on the protection of civilians under international humanitarian law.
