What is happening
More than 1.3 million people are displaced inside Haiti, with tens of thousands forced out in single months as armed groups take neighbourhoods.
About 5.7 million people face high acute food insecurity, and roughly a million are in IPC Phase 4 emergency conditions.
What we don't think about
Displacement into classrooms
Families shelter in schools, which means the children living there and the children who studied there both lose an education.
Roads as blockades
Controlled routes mean food, fuel and medicine cost several times more inside the capital than outside it.
Recruitment of children
Armed groups recruit teenagers who have no school, no work and no protection.
